World's Largest Great White Shark Deep Blue | Shark Week
World's largest great white shark Deep Blue | Shark Week. It's shark week so we take a look at Deep Blue, world's largest great white shark.
Deep Blue is widely considered the world’s largest great white shark, a 7 meter long beast that dwarfed cage divers in these amazing photos.
According to one of the divers Deep Blue is a 50-year-old female. He says that Deep Blue is proof that shark conservation efforts are working. Sharks in the region rarely get to that age thanks to human overfishing and poaching. In the photos, the shark is shown gliding along a cage, showing her massive girth, which is estimated to be as wide as a hippo. Deep Blue played a role in the Discovery Channel’s 2014 Shark Week when she was tagged by experts. In 2014, Deep Blue was pregnant, making her look even bigger. It was noted at the time that the slashes on her left flank indicate that she’s probably been involved in fights with other sharks. It's been estimated that she weighs over 20,000 pounds.
